Children Swim Levels:

Level 1:
Fear and unfamiliarity with water, children ages 3 and below. Children should be in preschool to experience separation before trying lessons with an instructor alone. Private lessons or Mommy and Me.

Level 2:
Child has no overwhelming fear. Child is receptive to instruction and independent of parent. Child may or may not put face in water. Child does not have any aquatic skills. Qualify for semiprivate lessons with Level 2 and 3
children.

Level 3:
Child has no fear. Child puts face in water. Child can perform floating with assistance. Child can perform gliding with assistance. Child can perform kicking with assistance. Qualify for semiprivate lessons with Level 2 or 4 together.

Level 4:
Child is independent in water. Child can float without assistance. Child can glide without assistance. Child can kick without assistance. Child is learning beginner stroke work. Qualify for semiprivate lessons with Level 3 or 5.

Level 5:
Child is learning basic strokes; Front Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, Backstroke, possibly Breastroke. Qualify for semiprivate lessons with Level 4.

Level 6:
Child is in advanced stroke instruction. Qualify for semiprivate lessons with other Level 6 ONLY.
