Yaqua is the art of yoga practiced in the
water. This program has been developed and passed on by the
combined expertise of a yoga professional and an aquatics professional.
I have studied this new method of aquatic exercise and am bringing
it those who want to experience it.
Yaqua is focused on rebalancing your
body, facilitating stress release, and increasing energy integration
in the supportive and nurturing environment of the water. This
program will promote maximum range of motion in your joints,
increase the elasticity of your connective tissue and muscle
fibers, all while utilizing the non-weight bearing and stabilizing
environmental qualities of water.
My program will follow the guidelines
of Yaqua in the following order:
Centering
Poses - to promote full range of motion
Warming Poses - to promote spinal balance
Aqua Salutation - a proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation
sequence of movements for all major muscle groups
Sets of Postures - to balance the muscles of the spinal
column
And Relaxation - stress release, breathing techniques
and centering
